Any relationship with God that does not lead to this end is, without a doubt, an alienating escape.

We never arrive at the goal, that is certain. But life should be a process of transfiguration: the change from one figure to another. We are a hard stone that the Father has taken from the quarry of life. From this stone, the Holy Spirit must carve the unveiled figure of Jesus Christ:

Merciful and sensitive, Jesus could never look at an affliction without being moved: he never lived for himself,” he always went out “with” and “for” others.

Meek and patient. Jesus, at the denial of Peter, “turned and looked at him” (Lk

26:69): a look of accusation but with love and forgiveness

Understanding and attentive, Jesus shared His kindness indiscriminately with sinners, so that they called Him “friend of tax collectors and sinners (Mt 11:19).

Preference for the poor. Jesus favorites were always the poor (Lk 6:21) the kingdom is for them (Lk 6:20). He not only dedicated Himself to a preference for the poor, but also shared their social condition.

Sincere and truthful. Jesus spoke clearly and directly; “Yes, yes; no, no,” (Mt 5:37), without speaking one way to some andanother way to others. Nothing disgusted Him more than hypocrisy, lies, and rationalizations. One of the most beautiful expressions in the Gospel: “The truth will set you free” On 8:32).

Ever-Ioving. His own disciples had the most vivid impression: the Master, above all else, had Ioved. Because of this, they understood perfectly when He told them to love because He had loved them On 13:34).

Humble and gentle. Jesus fled publicity to heal the sick, to multiply the loaves, to come down from the Mount of Transfiguration. When Jesus was ridiculed before Pilate and Caiaphas, He did not answer them on a single count (Mt 27:14).

Worrying about others without worrying about himself, often he took no time to eat, sleep, or rest (Mk 1:35; 3:7).

All of life with God is directed toward this transformation; and this means reproducing in us the feelings, attitudes, reactions, mental reflexes, and general conduct of Jesus, to be and to live like Him.
