On February 20th, in San José (Costa Rica), the PLW International Coordination—represented by Lorena Rodríguez (Coordinator), Purificación Vilar (Secretary), and Mercedes Sanz (Treasurer)—had the joy of meeting with our brother Guide, José González Truque, the composer of the music for the Official Hymn of the Prayer and Life Workshops, “Christ Jesus.” Joining us for this meeting were Ana María Ordoñez, Central America Coordinator, and several members of the Costa Rica National Team, led by their National Coordinator, Iván Brenes.
It was a touching and deeply significant moment. José González Truque shared memories of the time, over twenty years ago, when our Founder, Father Ignacio, specifically requested that he set our Official Hymn to music. Since then, this Hymn—with its moving and profound melody—alongside its official image, has accompanied our solemn gatherings, evoking emotion and fostering an atmosphere of deep meditation and focus during these moments.
The meeting was a special occasion to remember the origins of this work and to express our gratitude to the author for his valuable contribution. Through his talent, he continues to accompany and enrich the spiritual life of our Association.
